Before you are offered employment you are required to pass a security and character check in accordance with the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions’ Security Policy and the Commonwealth's Protective Security Manual. This will include a Police Records check.
Applicants for Senior Executive positions and other identified positions must hold or successfully obtain an ASIO security clearance to the level of TOP SECRET.
You may not be eligible for employment if you have accepted a redundancy benefit, severance payment or similar benefit in the last 12 months from an APS agency or non-APS Commonwealth employer.
If you are offered ongoing employment you are required to attend a medical examination either before or as soon as practicable after commencement and, in any event, within one month of commencement.
If you are offered ongoing employment you will be subject to a specified period of probation. The purpose of the probationary period is to ascertain whether your attendance, conduct and work performance meets the standards required by the Commonwealth DPP.
