- The matter of the death of Mr Andrew John Witton was referred to the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions (CDPP) in June 2010.
- Based on the evidence presented at that time, the matter was assessed against the relevant test under the Prosecution Policy of the Commonwealth, and the then Director was not satisfied there was reasonable prospect of securing a conviction against Mr Simon Golding.
- If authorities present the CDPP with new information relating to this case, the CDPP would consider that material, and again assess the matter in accordance with the Prosecution Policy of the Commonwealth.
- The CDPP is committed to working with our investigative partner agencies in assessing all matters referred to our Office, and to bring cases to a close through prosecution.
