Prosecution of Naveed Akram

Last updated: Wednesday 6 May 2026
The CDPP and parties interested in the orders for the suppression of information relating to the identity of a number of victims applied to further extend the orders so the CDPP’s application to vary and confirm the suppression orders could be heard at a later date. The Court extended the existing suppression orders until 29 June 2026. This means that information relating to the identity of a number of victims named in the Statement of Facts and Court Attendance Notices remains protected. The matter is next listed on 10 June 2026 for committal mention. The matter is also listed on 29 June 2026 to hear any application by the CDPP to vary and confirm the suppression orders.
