Careers

At the CDPP, we work consistently and professionally to deliver Australia’s independent federal prosecution service – a service that is responsive to the priorities of our law enforcement and regulatory partners and effectively contributes to the safety of the Australian community and the maintenance of the rule of law.

We are committed to a workplace that reflects the community we serve. We recognise how drawing on different experiences and opinions drives innovation, new ideas and a more collaborative workplace.

The CDPP employs approximately 500 people in 10 offices around Australia, including Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Canberra, Darwin, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney and Townsville.

The majority of our employees are lawyers and we employ social workers as part of the Witness Assistance Service. Our employees also provide a range of enabling services for our legal practice including litigation support, governance, accountancy, IT services, library services, people services, financial services, business improvement, professional development and administrative support. All employees are employed under the Public Service Act 1999.

We welcome and encourage applications from candidates with diverse backgrounds and experiences. We encourage everyone to be themselves without fear of discrimination or judgement about their ancestry, age, gender identity, religion, sexual orientation, cultural background and/or disability status.
