Prosecution of Mr Bernard Collaery
On 7 July 2022 the Commonwealth Attorney-General, the Honourable Mark Dreyfus QC MP, announced he had declined to proceed further in the prosecution of Mr Bernard Collaery for five offences relating to the alleged unlawful communication of ASIS information contrary to the Intelligence Services Act 2001. The prosecution of Mr Collaery for these offences was a matter being conducted by the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions (Commonwealth DPP).

Former Aboriginal art centre boss jailed for ripping off artists
Brett Evans was charged with 35 offences contrary to the CATSI Act in that he used his position as an employee of an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander corporation dishonestly, with the intention of directly or indirectly gaining an advantage for himself.

Criminal justice certificates and visas
If a witness or person, who is charged with an offence is needed for the criminal justice process, is not an Australian citizen or residence and does not have a valid visa, the CDPP will consider applying for a criminal justice certificate which will allow the person to enter (a criminal justice entry certificate) or remain in Australia (a criminal justice stay certificate).
Banking cartel prosecutions discontinued
On 11 February 2022, the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions Ms Sarah McNaughton SC announced her decision to decline to proceed further in the criminal prosecutions of Citigroup Global Markets Australia Pty Limited, Deutsche Bank AG and four senior banking executives for cartel offences arising from an ANZ institutional share placement in August 2015.
These prosecutions commenced in June 2018 following an investigation by the ACCC and a referral of a brief of evidence to the CDPP.
